The sculptor Kerstin Thomas and the sculptor and ceramist Renato Costa e Silva are the instructors for the Woodcarving Workshop, taking place in the Aldeia do Xisto of Cerdeira from June 29th to July 2nd.
This course offers a creative approach to woodcarving as a means of personal and artistic expression. After an introduction to techniques and raw materials, each participant will develop their own project, accompanied and supported step by step by the instructor in an environment of friendship, cooperation, and mutual assistance.

- Carving techniques with hand tools (chisels, gouges, and mallet)
- Finishing techniques
- Tool maintenance basics

The expectation is that pieces inspired by the stay and experience in Cerdeira, a special place, will be created, bringing to life long-dreamed wood projects.
At the end of the workshop, participants will take home a piece born from the dialogue between artist and raw material, creativity, and the learning provided by the course.
