The Aldeias do Xisto of Góis are once again honoring tradition by hosting another edition of the Carnival Race. This year's celebration will take place on March 2.
Revelers, dressed in old clothes and traditional cork masks, will gather early in Aigra Nova and then set off toward the neighboring villages of Pena, Cerdeira, Esporão, and Pontão Sotão.
In the afternoon, back in Aigra Nova, the festivities will feature the much-anticipated recitation of playful verses, the Jogo do Pau (Stick Game), the Burning of the Carnival Effigy, and plenty of musical entertainment. The complete program will be announced as soon as possible.
This event is organized by Lousitânea with the support of the Aldeias do Xisto and the Góis Municipality.
