The Cultural and Recreational Association of Mourisco, in the municipality of Sertã, invites you to uncover “The Charms of the Castle”, a hiking trail that is part of the “A Dois Passos do Paraíso” (Two Steps from Paradise) initiative. This hike, taking place on May 25, follows part of the Castle Route (PR8), running between the villages of Mourisco and Castelo.

Guided by José Pais, a forestry engineer and specialist in mycology and wild gastronomy, the walk covers approximately 7 km. Departure is at 09:00 from the Chapel of Santo António, in Mourisco. Arrival at the Parish Council of Castelo is scheduled for 12:30. A snack will be served at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Preces, and lunch will take place at the headquarters of the Cultural and Recreational Association of Mourisco, with transportation provided by the organization.

Participation is limited to 150 entries and must be made by May 22. The cost is €10 per person. Participation is free for children up to 5 years old and €5 for children between 6 and 10 years old. It includes a snack, lunch, and personal accident insurance. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. The Hiking Festival “A Dois Passos do Paraíso” is an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Sertã together with the local community associations. Until June, it offers two hikes per month along the marked walking routes of the municipality of Sertã, encouraging the discovery of the territory through rural contact, historical and cultural heritage, and the contemplation of nature and biodiversity through an environmentally responsible sporting and tourism activity.
