Aldeia das Dez , a Schist Village (Aldeia do Xisto) at Oliveira do Hospital municipality, once again becomes a place of creation, exchange and dialogue between tradition and contemporary artistic practices with the TECE – II International Meeting of Weaving and Other Arts, taking place from June 3 to 8.
Set in a territory deeply connected to weaving traditions, the Serra do Açor and the Schist Villages network, TECE establishes itself as a vibrant space for artistic experimentation, the appreciation of ancestral know-how, and meaningful encounters between artists, artisans, researchers and the local community.
Over five days, Aldeia das Dez will host creative workshops, talks and lectures, concerts, and experiences of local gastronomy, within a diverse programme that brings together weaving and other artistic disciplines, fostering contemporary creation rooted in tradition.
Aimed at artists, craftspeople, researchers, students and anyone seeking authentic cultural experiences, the event is designed to be an inclusive, intergenerational space where knowledge is shared and connections are strengthened.
