The guitar and voice duo Susana China & Guilherme Pinto closes the XJazz- Jazz Encounters in the Aldeias do Xisto 2019 with a concert in the Aldeia do Xisto of Cerdeira, scheduled for 26 October at 9.30pm.
After Canções à sombra do Sol, a collaborative work, Susana China and Guilherme Pinto have continued to deepen their artistic collaboration in different contexts. Perhaps the most notable is that of the of Susana China group who, in 2018 recorded "Trapézio", an album that received the highest praise from critics. "Susana China's voice is a precious point of balance, between sobriety, sensitivity and elegance, safely conducting the songs without a drop of ostentation", noted Nuno Catarino (Público newspaper, Bodyspace and A forma do Jazz).
In this concert, the duo returns to the format where they feel most at home: a dialogue for two around original themes, jazz standards and incursions into Brazilian music.
This XJazz show is part of the programme of the From Masters and Chefs initiative, promoted by Cerdeira - Home For Creativity from 19 to 27 October.
