On 7 April, Lousitânea is once again marking Open Mill Day in the Aldeias do Xisto of the municipality of Góis.
The highlights of the programme include a visit to the Poço da Lontra mill, in the Aldeia do Xisto of Pena, and to the Pego Escuro mill, at the Peneda/Pego Escuro River Beach, as well as participating in the traditional process of making bread and having lunch in a village environment, based on home–made products produced locally.
Programme
9am – Meet at the Góis Casa da Cultura
9.30am – Broa bread Workshop in the Aldeia do Xisto of Pena
- Visit to the Rodízio Mill of the Lontra well in the Aldeia do Xisto of Pena
Taking the cornbread out of the oven
1pm – Characteristic lunch in the Aldeia do Xisto of Pena
3pm – Departure for Góis
3.30pm – Visit to the Pego Escuro Mill at the Peneda/Pego Escuro River Beach
4.30pm – End of activity
This event shows the heritage of the municipality of Góis and is promoting its preservation.

The price is €15 per adult. Children under 6 years of age can participate for free. Children aged between 7 and 12 pay €7.5.
