The event, part of the Lousã Gastronomic Festival Autumn Flavours, brings together regional gastronomy and signature cuisine involving creativity.

Combining regional gastronomy and creativity, Cerdeira – Home for Creativity is once again promoting De Mestres e Chefs (From Masters and Chefs). Part of the Lousã Gastronomic Festival Sabores do Outono (Autumn Flavours), the initiative takes place from 19 to 27 October, in the Aldeia do Xisto of Cerdeira, and brings together the ceramist Renato Costa e Silva and the chef Freddy Guerreiro.

Renato Costa e Silva will share his experience and knowledge of ceramics with the participants who will create bowls, plates, cups and mugs. The pieces are then baked at a temperature of 1300ºC in the Sasukenei - Smokeless Oven for 36 hours. The action of the oven adds new colours, ash glazes and other special effects to the pieces and makes each one even more unique. Watching the excitement of the kiln opening is a privilege, and discovering and considering the new creations is an even more special moment when we can acquire one or several pieces first hand. It is already with a piece in their hands that the participants head to the Taberna das Artes to taste the delicious delicacies prepared by Chef Freddy, known not only for his excellent cuisine but also for his always original and unique presentation.

20 October

10am – 10pm: Group Pottery Firing in the Sasukenei Smokeless Kiln

25 October

5pm – 8pm: Flavours of the Earth - Creative Cooking Workshop with Chef Freddy Guerreiro

26 October

12pm: Opening of the Ceramic Oven, consideration of the new pieces and with the possibility of acquiring them at first hand
12pm – 8pm: Exhibitions of designer ceramics
12.30pm – 3pm: Lunch at Taberna das Artes
7pm – 10.30pm: Dinner at Taberna das Artes
9.30pm: Concert forming part of XJazz- Aldeias do Xisto Jazz Cycle (musicians to be confirmed)

27 October
