18 kilometres of constant climbing from the Ponte das Três Entradas, where the Alva and Alvoco rivers join, to the 1,230 m of Alto do Colcurinho. This is the fourth edition of the Colcurinho Epic Climb, the second kind climb of which will take place on 10 November, starting at 8am  The departure point is near the Ponte das Três Entradas.

Sponsored by the Aldeias do Xisto and the Municipality of Oliveira do Hospital and organised by the MTB LAZER section of the Catraiense Recreational and Cultural Association, the event will be disputed in one single race, open to all participants, where the winners will be decided. The ascent is timed, and the athletes’ times our measured upon arrival at the top of the Colcurinho.
 

The race includes a special class for electric bicycles that comply with the standards in force for the so-called “PEDELEC”, namely the EN15194 standard.

This is an “exhibition” format which is not competitive in nature, which is why there are no categories or classes.

• 10.50am: Arrival of the first athletes
• 12pm:  Arrival of the final athletes (closure of the finish line)

• 12pm:  Get together (Portuguese Caldo verde soup, pork steak sandwiches, drink)
• 1pm:  Award Ceremony
   

PRIZES

The classifications will be published in a special area next to the race paddock, at the Ponte das Três Entradas School. The jury, made up of three members of the organisation, analyses and makes its decisions on any protests that may be lodged.

The top three in each class receive a trophy.

STRAVA Challenge: Colcurinho Epic Climb

Because the Colcurinho Epic Climb is an ongoing challenge, on the day of the race, the athletes registered in the race who have been leading the male and female ranking in the STRAVA, in a segment to be designated on the Colcurinho Epic Climb Course.  Only the times achieved on 10 November are taken into account.
