In Janeiro de Baixo, autumn is celebrated around the fire and in good company. On 1 November, the Janeiro de Baixo Improvement League invites members, residents and friends of the village to the traditional Autumn Magusto, which will take place from 3 pm in Largo da Liga.

With roasted chestnuts, caldo verde (kale soup) and lots of good cheer, the gathering promises an afternoon of conviviality, sharing and entertainment, around the fire and the flavours of the season.

More than a tradition, Magusto is a time for reunion and celebration of community life, which keeps alive the soul of this schist village on the banks of the Zêzere.
