The Cabrito Gastronomic Weekends return to Lousã from 24 to 26 April and 1 to 3 May 2026, establishing themselves as a highlight in the promotion of local cuisine and regional produce. As part of the Gastronomic Passport strategy, the initiative strengthens the link between tradition, identity and the region’s appeal, inviting visitors to discover the authentic flavours of the mountains and experience the region more fully.
Over two weekends, 18 restaurants in the municipality of Lousã will present culinary offerings in which kid (a product deeply rooted in local tradition) takes centre stage, in a celebration that blends authenticity, quality and diversity. The initiative is also linked to the 25 April Commemorations, under the slogan “Lousã has Freedom”, enhancing the experience with a cultural programme that includes exhibitions, concerts, guided tours and other activities.
Among the participating restaurants are Restaurante Sabores da Aldeia, Essences (in the Schist Village of Cerdeira) and Taberna do Talasnal (in the Schist Village of Talasnal), venues where the flavours of the Schist Villages come to life and invite you to linger at the table.
As well as being a culinary experience, this is also an invitation to extend your stay in the municipality of Lousã and explore the surrounding area. This weekend (or next), take us up on our invitation: discover the flavours of kid, explore the Schist Villages and take the opportunity to book accommodation or other experiences via bookinxisto.com.
